Chris Thompson

I was born in Louisville, Kentucky on October 5th 1973. I started playing guitar at age 14.
My main interest for the first 5 years was rock. At 19 I started to explore other styles of music.
I began to take notice of blues and country styled guitar playing. At age 20 I started making regular
guest appearances at country music shows in Kentucky and Indiana. At age 21 I became a regular
member of Rick Aiken and The Country Cookin' Band at the Shepherdsville Country Music Show playing
Acoustic and Electric guitar as well as lead vocals. Later down the road I also worked for Doc Smith at the
New Star Country Palace playing lead guitar and also lead vocals. At age 24 I joined The
Pure South Band playing lead guitar and also doing vocals. We opened up for many major
label Nashville artists and played a lot of gigs throughout Kentucky and Indiana. At age 28 I started
playing lead guitar with a Christian pop/rock band called One Small Coin. We did all original music
and played at many churches in the Louisville area. Then at age 32 I starting working here at The Corydon
Jamboree sharing guitar duties with Darrell and also singing. I really like working with everyone
in the band and consider everyone in the band a friend. Along with being a musician I love to mix music.
I spend a lot of my time recording and mixing music I have written or have collaborated on with others. I have
been married for 8 years to my wonderful wife Tara and on January 27th 2008 she gave birth to our son Isaac.
Tara and I both are devoted Christians and Isaac is a wonderful miracle from God. He promised we would
receive a child. We had to be patient and go through a lot but, God keeps His promises!
